Short answer
Every major platform shows where your account is signed in, and most let you end those sessions remotely. Google: Security → Your devices. Apple: the device list at account.apple.com. Microsoft: “Sign out everywhere” (up to 24 hours). Facebook and Instagram: Accounts Centre → Password and security. WhatsApp: Linked devices. X: Apps and sessions. LinkedIn: Where you’re signed in. Telegram: Devices. Snapchat: one device at a time. On TikTok and Discord, changing the password logs out the other devices. The table below has the exact path for each.
Where to check, platform by platform
| Platform | Where to see where you’re signed in | How to sign the others out | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Account → Security → Your devices → Manage all devices | Select the device → Sign out | Changing the password signs you out almost everywhere | |
| Apple | account.apple.com → Devices, or Settings → your name | Remove from Account | A removed device loses iCloud, Find My and verification codes |
| Microsoft | Recent activity page (last 30 days) | Advanced security options → Sign out everywhere | Can take up to 24 hours; an Xbox console stays signed in |
| Accounts Centre → Password and security → Where you’re logged in | Select one, several or all sessions → Log out | Each entry shows date, time, location and device | |
| Accounts Centre → Password and security → login activity | Remove the logins you don’t recognise | Changing the password logs out every device | |
| Settings → Linked devices | Tap the device → Log out | Linked devices log out if the phone isn’t used for 14 days | |
| X | Settings and privacy → Apps and sessions → Sessions | Log out of a session, or all other sessions at once | Resetting the password logs out every session |
| Settings & Privacy → Sign in & security → Where you’re signed in | Sign out of all these sessions (password required) | Your current session stays signed in | |
| Telegram | Settings → Devices | Terminate a session, or all other sessions | A device that has only just logged in may not be allowed to end older sessions |
| Snapchat | accounts.snapchat.com, or Settings → My Account | Log Out next to each device | There is no single “log out everywhere” button |
| TikTok | — | Change your password | TikTok logs you out on all other devices |
| Discord | — | Change your password | Discord logs out all devices |
Menu names change with app updates; the official page for each platform is listed under Sources.
When to do this
- You got a sign-in alert you don’t recognise, or a code you didn’t ask for.
- A phone or laptop was lost, sold or shared.
- You typed your password into a page that turned out to be fake: how to report phishing.
- Messages or posts appear that you didn’t send.
The order that works
- Secure the email account first — password resets go there.
- Change the password of the affected account.
- Sign out every session you don’t recognise (or all of them).
- Turn on two-step verification or a passkey: passkeys explained.
- Check the recovery email and phone haven’t been changed.
If you can’t get in at all
Then the attacker has already changed the login details, and the platform’s recovery route comes first: official recovery links. If your phone number stopped working at the same time, read SIM swap: what to do.
Make it a habit
Checking these lists once a month takes minutes. Our 15-minute security checklist covers the rest, and our hacked account recovery service works only through official channels.
