What "disabled" actually means on Instagram
Instagram restricts accounts at several different levels, and the level you are on decides which route works. A temporary lock asks you to verify your identity or reset your password and often clears in minutes. A suspended or disabled account shows a notice at login and needs a formal appeal. A permanently disabled account is one where the appeal window has closed or previous appeals were rejected — harder, but not automatically the end.
The trigger is usually one of: suspected Community Guidelines violations, an automated flag for spam-like behaviour, coordinated mass reporting by other users, a copyright complaint, or unusual login activity. In a large share of cases the account owner never gets a specific reason — just a generic notice.
One rule applies to nearly every case: time works against you. Instagram permanently deletes many suspended accounts after roughly 30 days if no successful appeal is filed. Acting in the first days matters far more than anything you can do in week four.

When we can help
- The account is suspended or disabled and the in-app or web appeal route is still open.
- Earlier appeals were rejected but the case has genuine grounds — mistaken identity, a wrongly flagged post, or enforcement triggered by mass reporting.
- Identity verification is being requested (photo ID or video selfie) and you are the real account owner but the step keeps failing.
- A business or creator account where the loss has commercial consequences and you can evidence ownership.
- The account was restricted after a hack — though in that case start with our hacked account recovery page, the route is different.
03
When we cannot help
We would rather tell you this before you spend anything:
- The account has already passed Instagram's deletion window and no longer exists in their systems.
- The account was removed for confirmed severe violations — fraud, sale of prohibited goods, child safety violations. These are not appealable and we do not take these cases.
- You are not the legitimate owner of the account and cannot evidence ownership.
- What you actually want is access to somebody else's account. We do not do that under any circumstances.
04Reach the result in 4 steps
-
Get in touch
Tell us the username, what the notice said, and when it happened. Screenshots of the notice help a lot.
-
Free pre-analysis
We identify which restriction level you are on and whether the appeal route is still open, then give you a realistic assessment and a time estimate — at no cost.
-
Work begins
Only after you approve. We prepare and submit the appeal through Instagram's official channels, handle the identity-verification step, and escalate if the first response is a template rejection.
-
Result and delivery
You are told exactly what the outcome was, with the platform response where there is one.
05
What we need from you
- The exact username (and any previous usernames the account has used).
- Every email address and phone number that has ever been connected to the account — old ones frequently matter more than the current one.
- A screenshot of the notice Instagram showed you, plus the approximate date.
- For business accounts: the registration email, and documents that evidence the business relationship to the account name.
- Your willingness to complete the video-selfie or ID step yourself if Instagram asks for it — that step is done by you, never by us.
06Security and your data
We never ask for your password or verification codes. No legitimate recovery process requires them, and anyone who does ask is running a scam. Identity-verification steps such as the video selfie are always completed by you on your own device.
Everything you share is used only to assess and work your case, is never sold, and is never passed to third parties.
07
What to realistically expect
Straightforward cases frequently resolve within 24–72 hours. Cases that need escalation past the first automated rejection take longer, sometimes several weeks.
No one can guarantee an Instagram account comes back — the final decision always belongs to the platform. Anyone promising a guaranteed unlock is not telling you the truth.
Terms agreed up front. What the work involves and what it costs is agreed with you in plain language, so the amount is never a surprise later.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to do the video selfie myself?
Yes, and that is deliberate. The video selfie is Instagram's way of confirming a real human owner, and it has to be you on your own device. It is also the step that defeats most account takeovers, because an attacker cannot pass it.
My appeal was already rejected. Is that final?
Not necessarily. A first rejection is frequently automated. Cases with real grounds can be re-argued with proper documentation through escalation channels — that is a large part of what we actually do.
My account was disabled a month ago. Is it too late?
Possibly, but not certainly. The roughly-30-day figure is when deletion becomes likely, not a hard cutoff for every case type. Send us the details and we will tell you honestly in the free pre-analysis whether it is still worth pursuing.
Will I lose my posts and followers?
If the account is reinstated it normally returns intact — posts, followers and messages included — because Instagram restores the account rather than rebuilding it. Accounts that have already been deleted cannot be restored with their content.
