Meta announced 24/7 account support on Facebook and Instagram with a centralised support hub and smarter, adaptive account recovery. Since March 2026 it has been rolling out a Meta AI support assistant where Meta AI is available, in the Facebook and Instagram apps and in the Help Center on desktop. Meta says it can report scams, impersonation accounts and problematic content, reset passwords and update privacy and profile settings. Find it through Help & Settings, the Help Centers or the support hub. For a disabled or suspended account, the appeal shown on your notice is still the route.
What Meta changed
- December 2025: 24/7 account support on Facebook and Instagram, a centralised support hub, and improved account recovery. Meta says new account hacks fell by more than 30% globally over the previous year.
- March 2026: the Meta AI support assistant began rolling out where Meta AI is available.
- April 2026: Accounts Center is gradually becoming Meta Account over about a year; you’ll be notified when yours changes.
What the AI assistant can do
- Report scams, impersonation accounts and problematic content.
- Reset passwords.
- Manage privacy settings and update profile settings.
- Open it from Help & Settings, a Help Center, or the support hub.
Where it fits — and where it doesn’t
- Hacked, still have the app or a login: try the hub and the assistant first, then hacked Instagram or hacked Facebook.
- Disabled or suspended: use the appeal on your notice within its deadline — disabled Instagram, disabled Facebook.
- Impersonation: report through the app or the assistant — fake Facebook profile.
